Our Origin
Tamata was founded on a simple premise: high-end eyewear shouldn't be defined by loud, flashy logos. Instead, true luxury lies in the details. We believe in quiet confidence, structured architectural silhouettes, and premium materials that speak for themselves.
Each pair of sunglasses is designed in our New York studio and handcrafted in small, numbered batches in Italy. We focus on clean geometry, precise weights, and refined colorways that blend seamlessly into any wardrobe.
Built on Standards
Premium Acetate
We use block-cut, renewable cellulose acetate sourced from Italy. Acetate is lightweight, hypoallergenic, and adapts beautifully to the warmth of your face, maintaining its depth of color and natural gloss finish forever.
CR-39 Precision Optics
All our sunglasses are fitted with scratch-resistant, impact-absorbing CR-39 optical lenses. They offer complete UV400 protection, safeguarding your eyes from 100% of UVA and UVB radiation while offering unmatched visual clarity.
Stainless Steel Hinges
Each temple is locked to the front frame via heavy-duty five-barrel or seven-barrel stainless steel hinges, secured with Teflon-coated screws. They provide a satisfying, solid feel upon open and close, built to last a lifetime.
Our Soho Showroom
Located in the heart of Lower Manhattan, our flagship showroom houses the complete acetate and metallic collections. Visitors are welcome for custom fittings and frame consultations.
